Smokestak

I am a big meat eater so me and Smokestak got on very well! Starting off in the street food world, Smokestak was so popular it opened a permanent residency near Shoreditch High Street Station.

With an open kitchen, the smell of smoked meatand a slightly industrial but quirky space, you can see why Smokestak is so popular.

The menu is simple with some creative dishes that encourage food sharing (my favourite). You must try crispy ox cheek to begin – 3 gorgeous flavoursome croquettes! We also had the salt baked beetroot, goat cheese, hazelnuts, which was great.

From the main sharing plates we had to choose the beef brisket (with mustard barbeque) which was delicious and I was surprised at how much I loved the coal roasted aubergine, red miso, toasted cashews. On the side we also had charred greens, tahini, pomegranate, which were tasty. All the food was beautifully presented and the service was good with our waiter giving us recommendations.
