Brindisa Tapas

Ideally located on Curtain Road in the heart of Shoreditch is Brindisa Tapas, a small chain of restaurants bringing you a wide range of tapas dishes from around Spain.  Make sure you don’t miss the lovely al fresco terrace at the back of the restaurant!

We visited on World Tapas Day and tried some of the real classic dishes. We had the tortilla espanola and the croquetas de jamon, which were so tasty.

Following that, we tried the gambas al ajilo (prawns, chilli, garlic, olive oil), patatas bravas (you just can’t have tapas without them!) and my favourite, chorizo de leon with piquillo peppers and sourdough toast.

Lastly, we had some seafood paella with mussels and prawns, which was really flavoursome and the prawns were HUGE!

Finishing the wonderful feast was Crema Catalana, which was like a creme brulee!

The whole experience was great and I look forward to returning – perhaps to their first outlet in Borough Market! They also offer brunch at the weekends between 12 and 5pm where they have created a menu featuring 5 speciality rice dishes, all served with pan con tomate and salad. The Arroz de Costillas with Bomba rice, pork ribs & black pudding looks really good!
