Grand Union is situated behind Smithfields market just a couple of doors down from Fabric and is a lively venue in the weekdays and also remains pretty busy at the weekend.
The top floor bar has plenty of space to sit around and chat and the decor is pretty quirky – almost like a Victoria boudoir theme with high ceilings and gold fittings and mirrors.
The downstairs basement bar opens every Thursday, Friday and Saturday from 8pm to around 2/3am and the DJs tend to play a mixture of commercial and RnB.
Drink wise, I recommend the Carmen Miranda – a prosecco based cocktail with passoa passionfruit liquer and grapefruit.
