The Jones Family Project

STAR HAPPY HOUR DEALS: Every Monday to Saturday from 5-7 pm with a selection of cocktails for only £6, house red & white wines just £9.95 for a 500ml carafe and selected beer is £2.50!

The Jones Family Project is situated in the heart of Shoreditch, only a few minutes from Old Street station on Great Eastern Street. It has a fantastic bar area with a number of relaxing booths upstairs, a further bar downstairs (where the contestants from Naked Attraction have their cocktails!) with a lovely dining area.

We started off with some fantastic cocktails and were assisted by helpful bartender, Leo! The bar actually swivels around half way through the day from teapots and teacups to reveal all of the spirits and wines!

We had the In the Pink – sloe gin, briotett peach liquer, lemon juice, sugar, egg white, orange bitters, flowers, Lost Negroni – Botanist gin, Campari, house blend of Italian bitters & vermouth, Dreaming of Aruba – Kraken black spiced rum, wray & nephew white rum, apricot liquer, velvet falernum, grapefruit juice, lime, ginger ale, fresh raspberries, Bubbles & Squeak – absolut vanilla vodka, passoa passion fruit, orgeat, lime juice, prosecco and Old Diplomat – Diplomatico Reserva Exclusiva & Kraken spiced rums, old fashioned and Angostrura bitters, coffee beans, sugar.

I have to admit – I loved them all! There were many others on the menu I could have chosen as well, which is always a very positive sign. Also loved that they served popcorn with the cocktails. Make sure you check out happy hour between 5-7 where selected cocktails are only £6!

We were very excited to try the food, particularly given that the steaks are all sourced from the Ginger Pig Butcher in North Yorkshire! We started off with the Burrata – sesame roasted aubergine, cherry tomatoes, soy & candied pecans and Cornish Crab Salad- family crab dressing, avocado, tomato & crostini, which were both good.

However, the showstopper was the steaks – we had a Rib Eye and a Rump with truffle mac and cheese, triple cooked chips and wilted spinach. It was AMAZING! Best rump steak by far I have ever had and definitely up there in my top steaks in general.

The atmosphere is fantastic, service is friendly and prices are reasonable – can’t wait to return, especially for their Sunday roast lunch menu where they offer 2 courses for only £15.50 and 3 courses for £18.50 – bargain!
