DSTRKT is more well known for its swanky lounge and club and celebrities who frequent at the venue. However, it should pride itself on the quality of food and service in its exquisite restaurant, which won the award “Best Restaurant & Lounge 2015”.
The restaurant is on a split level with gorgeous lights on the ceilings with a modern and sophisticated feel to it. DSTRKT offers a range of dishes including Japanese inspired sushi (authentic larger sushi you would expect from Japan as opposed to the smaller portions you see regularly in other restaurants) and sashimi. They also offer small plates and grill dishes which you can share to try a bit of everything.
We started with the sushi (crab and tuna) and sashimi (tuna, salmon and seabass) – really tasty and rather filling!
Moving on we had the most wonderful cod fritters with a thin fried spaghetti coating, squid with paprika seasoning, vegetable spring rolls and chicken satay with peanut sauce.
Lastly, we just about managed to squeeze in a melt in your mouth raspberry and white chocolate cheesecake.
The service was excellent, without being too pushy. Water and wine were constantly filled up and we were always asked how our food was. If you eat early, the restaurant also offers a pre-theatre fixed menu.
Lovely experience and would recommend for a date or night out with friends.
